Community Involvement

We take great pride in our community and love to be involved in it. Though the COVID pandemic has frozen or discontinued many seasonal events, you will see department members and apparatus participating in numerous activities as events resume. Historically, we have participated in the following:

Shop with a Firefighter

In Decembers past, the Chehalis Fire Department has partnered up with local law enforcement agencies to take children shopping for holiday gifts. Children walk through a department store with a firefighter and pick out gifts for members of their families. These gifts are completely paid for by International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2510 and local businesses.

Parades

When one of our local sports teams has had an exceptional season, we celebrate driving through town. We also participate in local holiday parades and in ceremonial processions.

Major Sporting Activities

Occasionally we will perform standby at sporting events to show local support. We're also available at these events to provide medical assistance if needed.

Charity Events and Fund Raisers

Members of IAFF Local 2510 frequently engage in special events to raise awareness and collect donations to support treatments and cures for various causes. Any current charity events or fund raisers will be posted on the fire department homepage.
