Adopted Ten-Year Water System Plan

Ten-Year Final Water System Plan

The Department of Health (DOH) mandates that all water systems update their Water System Plan (WSP) every 10 years pursuant to WAC 246-290-100 and WAC 246-291-140. The city’s current WSP must be updated to be in compliance with these DOH guidelines.

The Chehalis City Council Adopted the Ten-Year Water System Plan by Resolution No 06-2025 at a regularly scheduled council meeting on April 22, 2024.

Water Use Efficiency Goal Setting

DOH requires water systems to develop a Water Use Efficiency (WUE) Program which involves setting public water use goals for WUE. See Chapter 4 of the WSP for a history on the development of the WUE Rule.

The City of Chehalis’ previous WUE goals were formally adopted in 2009. Chapter 4 of the WSP documents current progress towards these previously developed WUE goals. Proposed revised WUE goals were developed as a part of this WSP and are shown in Chapter 4 of the WSP. Projected water use/demands with and without these proposed goals are shown in Chapter 2, Tables 2-7 and 2-8 of the WSP.
