Lifeguards and Swim Instructors! Here’s your chance to be part of the Gail and Carolyn Shaw Aquatics Center lifeguard team, which serves approximately thirty thousand customers from throughout the area during the summer.

The City of Chehalis is hiring several temporary/seasonal employees as lifeguards, swim instructors and administrative staff. This is an opportunity to be a part of a fast paced, highly motivated team that serves our community, and you can earn some money at the same time!

Not currently certified? If you are interested in becoming a Certified Lifeguard with the possibility of working at the Gail and Carolyn Shaw Aquatics Center this summer, the City of Chehalis will be offering a Lifeguard Certification Class beginning in May, prior to the pool opening. Class size is very limited so please e-mail Lilly Wall at lwall@ci.chehalis.wa.us or call (360) 748-0271 ASAP if you are interested.

All positions must be available to work flexible schedules as assigned including weekends and less than 8 hr days. Hours may be less than full time (40 hrs/week). Pool is scheduled to open mid-June, 2024.

Senior Instructor $17.96 - $19.80/hr.

Senior Lifeguard $17.96 - $19.80/hr.

Water Safety Instructor $17.10 - $18.86/hr.

Lifeguard $16.28 - $17.96/hr.

(Placement within each wage range is dependent upon applicant qualifications.)

All applicants must submit a signed City of Chehalis Application Form.

If you are already certified, please also submit:

Proof of Lifeguard Certification and/or Water Safety Instructor Certification
Proof of “CPRO” Certification (CPR for Professional Rescuer)
