Attraction Spotlight - Lewis County Historical Museum

City of Chehalis Washington Official Website

Located in the historic 1912 Northern Pacific Railway depot, the Lewis County Historical Museum offers interesting and educational displays about the early settlements and pioneer life in Lewis County, the oldest county in Washington State.  This beautiful historic facility is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Explore exhibits depicting a blacksmith shop, general store, firefighting equipment, logging, and farming tools.  Learn about the importance of our rail history.  A Native American exhibit features both the Cowlitz and Chehalis Tribes.  Children will have fun in the special hands-on area just for them!  Railroad buffs will enjoy the operating HO scale model railroad.

The Museum store has a plethora of books by local authors, videos, photographs, old postcards, souvenirs, and more about the great history and heritage of Lewis County.  We invite you to peruse through a treasure-trove of items.
