Attraction Spotlight - Veterans Memorial Museum

City of Chehalis Washington Official Website

The Veterans Memorial Museum is one of three important museums in Chehalis.  Their mission is to honor and perpetuate the memory of the service men and women who have served in our nation's armed forces down through the history of our country during peacetime or war.  We are honored that the Museum calls Chehalis home.

With the goal of making sure that our veterans, "Shall Not Be Forgotten," the museum opened in 1997, in a Centralia, Washington storefront before moving to Chehalis in 2005.  This unforgettable and inspiring Museum features a 9,000 sq. ft. main gallery with 85 display cases and hundreds of displays honoring our veterans; a military history reference library with thousands of volumes; a gift shop; and a "USO" where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation with local veterans.  In addition, the museum offers a 3,000 sq. ft. Events Center for rental for your special occasion.

The museum contains displays from the Revolutionary War to the Global War on Terrorism.  View artifacts from the early conflicts of America, as well as an extensive weapons collection.  As you enter the breezeway of the Museum, you will see the "Wall of Honor" that contains tiles of the names of  veterans who have served our nation through sacrifice, honor and duty.  A breathtaking  40' x 60' American flag is proudly displayed in the main gallery, along with a 9/11 display that features a piece of the Pentagon that visitors can touch.

The Museum holds several events throughout the year.  The public is always welcome to join in thanking and honoring our veterans.
