New Downtown Chehalis Mural Highlights Area

Chehalis WA – Downtown Chehalis has a brand new mural.  Produced by local artist, Emily von Flotow, this public artwork was created to celebrate community attractions and attributes.  The mural is a project of the Chehalis Community Renaissance Team in partnership with the City of Chehalis.  The mural features the local Chehalis-Centralia Railroad & Museum’s 1916 steam locomotive, the St. Helens Hotel, and flora and fauna representative of the area .  The mural is located on the exterior of the Market Boulevard-facing wall of the newly remodeled public restrooms.  Paint for the project was graciously donated by Sherwin-Williams in Chehalis.

Executive Director Annalee Tobey said, “This artwork represents the spirit of our community, and is an example of the wonderful projects that can be created out of strong partnerships.  We thank Emily for her efforts and talents creating a colorful and vivid representation of our city.”

A second mural will be produced by von Flotow on the restroom this spring when weather conditions are conducive.

Von Flotow is a local artist living in Adna.   Past murals and graphics completed by her can be found at Jeremy’s Farm to Table and Flood Valley Brewing.
