Temporary City Planner

The City of Chehalis Building and Planning Department is hiring a temporary City Planner, anticipated to last approximately 9 months. 

This is a temporary, in person, full-time position represented by Teamsters 252 with a 2023 salary range of $64,668 to $78,612 plus available benefits.  This position will be evaluated at 9 months to determine if will become permanent, depending on the permit and development workload at that time. 

This employee works in the Building and Planning Department and performs a variety of planning activities; research and analyze technical data to apply planning and zoning regulations to development, construction, and land use issues.  Provides technical assistance to the public and other agencies.  Assists the Planning and Building Manager and other staff with complex cases by gathering and analyzing data, assisting in the preparation of reports and documents for board reviews and appeal hearings; provides graphic, mapping and data collection support; performs assigned projects independently and other duties as assigned.
