The City of Chehalis is hiring a Planning and Building Manager.  This is a supervisory position which requires a broad knowledge of community development and is responsible for the supervision of all functional elements of the community development department, including building inspections and planning.

This is a non-represented at-will, full-time, in-person position with a 2023 salary range of $83,448 to $101,436 plus excellent benefits. 

Essential duties include but are not limited to 

  • Planing, organizing, and supervising the development and implementation of city policies and procedures relating to land use, transportation, environmental, community development, community planning, annexations, code enforcement, animal control, and community services programs.
     
  • Participating and supervising development and implementation of funding resources for public and private economic development projects and programs.
     
  • Providing detailed assistance to the public on programs offered through the Community Development Department, assuring proper application and enforcement of such programs.
     
  • Overseeing the gathering, interpreting and preparation of data for studies, reports, and recommendations regarding annexations, transportation, land use management, land economics, capital improvements, and other plans/policies.
